Job purpose

This finance role will support LLA’s Spanish entities in day to day business operations. For the Fintech group, the financial role will support MyneHub in building itself into a technology company that is driving value through providing B2B services incl. platform aggregation / data analytics / consulting re. lending insights. The role will also need to support Mynehub in its role as a holding company for various shareholdings in direct to consumer lending businesses. For the wider group of LLA Spanish entities, this role will support the US based teams coordinating different projects and working under the supervision of different managers / different groups (Finance, Strategy, Treasury, Tax and Legal)

Key Accountabilities

The responsibilities will be split into 3 key groups, the role will report to the current CFO with a dotted line to the various functional leads in LLA e.g. Tax / Treasury. The role will have responsibility for multiple entities of different complexities within the LLA Spanish structure. The candidate will work with external advisors and the internal wider organization.

Financial Planning & Management Reporting Function

  • Support CEO in execution of the Fintech agenda
  • Leading the yearly budget, long-range plans and monthly rolls in conjunction with CFO & LLA
  • Creating and maintain product level financials to support management team

Tax Function

  • Preparation and/or filing of income tax returns, value added tax returns, withholding tax returns, municipal tax returns and any other tax returns applicable to the Spanish entities
  • Working on monthly and quarterly VAT and withholding tax return filings, especially with respect to information gathering, compilation, reconciliations or issue resolution as proposed by external advisor teams
  • Provide advice on the applicable rates with respect to the third-party withholding
  • Assist in both quarterly and year-end tax reporting. Including:
    • Preparing and analyzing all book to tax differences for the Spanish entities and reconcile the differences between provision and return
    • Quarterly update of summarized discrete tax accounting items
    • Provide support in the documentation and explanation of provision calculations and disclosures to the external audit team
    • Assisting in the implementation and execution of documentation and internal control obligations under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
    • Regularly collect and interpret tax data to build meaningful cash tax projections
    • Asist in the preparation and filing of tax forms to inform the Spanish tax authorities about intragroup restructurings, intragroup special transactions, or related to FACTA compliance (W-8, W-9, CRS, etc.) as needed

Treasury Function

  • Ad hoc liquidity planning support for the Spanish entities
  • Support the Treasury team with new or refinancing related projects involving the Spanish entities

Other

  • SOX compliance support for both Fintech & Treasury teams
  • Assist LLA teams with global projects involving Spanish finance / tax regulations e.g. reorganizations / M&A
  • Work with tax / legal advisors to ensure proper transaction documentation and understand the transaction steps to correctly report the transaction for financial statement and local tax reporting purposes
  • Support the finance team in reviewing the accounting around transactions to ensure that they are accurately reflected in both the consolidated and local statutory accounting records
  • Minority shareholder reporting in conjunction with LLA accounting team
  • Assist in certain technical research projects to support tax / accounting technical positions
  • Ad hoc support for accounting / reporting teams in LLA on standards / policies e.g. Spanish GAAP and in relation to internal/external audit requests
  • Monthly accounts payables reporting
  • Expenses management for team travel

Knowledge and Experience

Qualifications/Education

  • Professional proficiency in English and Spanish required
  • 5 years of tax / finance experience preferably in accounting or audit
  • Understanding of the Fintech space desirable
  • Proven ability to work in lean start-up entities without extensive resources / support
  • Undergraduate degree in related discipline
  • Spanish income tax experience required. Experience with other US, Caribbean and LATAM countries is beneficial, but not required.
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and/or SAP is
    preferred, but not mandatory.
